Roofing Process

1. Rip and remove existing roof

Inspect decking and replace any rotted wood with ½ inch CDX plywood.

2. Synthetic Underlayment

A water resistant layer and better protection than traditional felt.

3. Install Drip Edge

Installed along all the rakes and eaves which diverts water away from the facia. This prevents water from getting under the shingles and rotting plywood and facia.

4. Install starter shingles

Starter shingles sit against the edges of the roof and creates a seal to help prevent wind and water damage. Installed on all rakes and eaves for added protection.

5. Install shingles

6 nails per shingle insuring maximum protection against wind.

By following these steps, we can be sure that your roof will be properly protected from the elements.

6. Apply flashing

Step flashing where the roof intersects with walls. Its installed behind the siding and underneath the roofing shingle covering the seam.

7. Ridge vent

The most efficient and cost effective way to ventilate the roof.

8. Gutters and leaders

Standard 5" white "k" style gutters with 2”x 3” downspouts.
